ADULT OFFERINGS AND OPPORTUNITIES
We meet on Thursday evenings at members’ homes for light refreshments and discussion of a wide variety of books which the group chooses.
During the spring and fall, we offer both an evening league and also a weekly morning group.
Music is a highly value part of our ministry and under the direction of our Organist/ Music and Adult Choir Director, Douglas Blackall, Handbell Director, Anne L’Hommedieu and Children’s Choir Directore, Beth Derrenbacher, we offer a full range of musical opportunities which include special events such as the Christmas Cantata.
Adult Bible Study
During the course of the year we offer several 4-6 week blocks of study, at varying times to try to accommodate different schedules. Some of the studies, such as our current one, If You Want to Walk on Water, You Have to Get Out of the Boat, are DVD/discussions programs. Others are based on a particular book or topic of the Bible.
During the course of the year we have special gatherings designed to involve all ages. Included are the Epiphany tree burning and sledding gathering, card and game nights as well as other activities.
We belong to a Co-Ed Christian Softball League in the area which plays Wednesday evenings.
We meet regularly during the year for study, discussion and community buildings, as well as offering yearly retreats.
We meet each Tuesday night at Cherry Lanes in Sodus at 6:00pm for the $1/game special. Families and all are welcomed.
We rehearse in the church balcony on Wednesday nights, and we play on at least one Sunday each month between September and June. We usually play at the beginning of the church service so that our members, most of whom are also in the Adult Choir, can easily participate in the rest of the service.
We currently have 13 members, including the Director. Our very first out-of-church gig will be in December 2011 when we play several Christmas songs at the Blossom View Nursing Home in Sodus. We are willing to consider playing at your special gathering or event, too. Please visit our church to hear us play our beautiful bells!
