ABOUT US

We are pleased to announce that our church is once again open for Worship Services!  We continue to adhere to all health and safety protocols, including wearing a mask until you are seated and again when you stand to sing, sanitizing hands upon entering the church, and taking temperatures of everyone entering.  We continue broadcast Live on Facebook every Sunday.  Our bulletins and text of sermons are provided on our Calendar Page.  CLICK HERE TO GO TO Facebook:

We are continuing two of our important Community Outreach programs during the COVID-19 crisis:  FREE BAG LUNCHES on Wednesdays and FREE COMMUNITY DINNERS on the 3rd Tuesday of each month.  All meals are available for drive-thru or walk-up pickup at the back door of the church.  Lunch distribution begins at  11:30 a.m. until gone; Community Dinner distribution begins at 5:00 p.m. until gone.   Bag Lunches include a well-stuffed sandwich (usually egg, tuna, or chicken salad),potato  chips, applesauce, and cookies.  Community Dinners include a hot comfort-food entrée, and a tossed salad or vegetable, bread and butter and dessert. Selections vary month to month.

We openly welcome all newcomers to our services. Our services are vibrant, and filled with music under the direction of our most capable choir director and talented organist and pianist. We have an adult choir, a children’s choir, and a handbell choir. Although our services follow the usual Presbyterian format of worship, you will find many welcome surprises: skits that interpret the gospel, guest musicians, congregation participation, and many special services throughout the Christian calendar year: Hanging of the Greens, Christmas Cantata, the Christmas Pageant, All Saints Day, Jazz Sunday, Youth Sunday, and World Communion. Reverend Gail’s unique approach to worship and her warm, caring personal style, combine to give the church family an enlightened knowledge of the scriptures, and never fails to leave church goers with a smile on their faces. Child care is provided in our church’s nursery during services. Sunday School classes are offered for children September through May. Our church is an integral part of the Sodus community. Come worship with us, and join your friends and neighbors in a gathering mutual faith and shared Christian unity. We look forward to welcoming you to our worship services.

  Our Mission & outreach

St Francis of Assisi said it best:

“Preach the Gospel at all times.

When Necessary, use words.’

Our mission committee, which is a major focus of the church, has been energized by many faithful and caring members who have heeded the words from Isaiah: “Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying: ‘Who should I send? Who will go for us?’ I said: ‘Here I am. Send me.’” (Isaiah 6:8)

Annual Holiday Lights and Music Celebration

Annual Holiday Light and Music Celebration

Each year we invite the public to share in this amazing show of thousands of beautiful lights synchronized with holiday music selections.  2020 presented never-before-seen challenges to our community and our world and due to health and safety restrictions we made the sad decision to cancel the show for 2020.  We are looking forward to a better, brighter 2021 and hope to once again bring this beautiful holiday show to the public.

Admission is always free; donations accepted and appreciated and support varied Mission projects around the community.     Scroll down our “Photos” page for previous years’ Light Show videos!

Sunday School and Christian Education

“Children are a blessing and a gift from God.” (Psalm 127:3)

Children are the heart of our church. We have a warm and welcoming church and Sunday School, which meets after the Children’s Time during Sunday Morning Worship. Prior to worship, at 9:40 am, the children meet with our Children’s Choir Director and the children sing every other week during the early part of worship. Our Sunday School is for children ages 3-grade six. Our youth are involved in worship activities, helping with Sunday School and participating in the life of the church. In addition to our regular Sunday School, we have a number of other activities and opportunities for participation. Children are encouraged to help in special services, to serve as acolytes and cross bearers. They also help in our worship services as readers and in other special events, such as the Christmas Pageant and the Children’s Day Service. They participate in all of our special services, ranging from The Hanging of the Greens to World Wide Communion to Christmas Eve to Easter and others. In addition, we have a Spring Fling and Fall Festival for the children and they also participate in a service for our local nursing home. One of our biggest ventures is our week-long community based VBS which involves over 120 people, an event which is well received in our community.
