Our Handbell Choir began in February 2010. The purchase of our initial set of two octaves was made possible by Memorial Fund monies and other donations. We bought our 3rd octave of bells in the spring of the same year. Thanks to donations, we purchased folding tables, folders for the music, foam cushions, and gloves for the ringers. One of our members made the shelves for the music folders and purchased most of the music.

We rehearse in the church balcony on Wednesday nights, and we play on at least one Sunday each month between September and June. We usually play at the beginning of the church service so that our members, most of whom are also in the Adult Choir, can easily participate in the rest of the service.

In the future, we hope to buy mallets and other accessories to use with our handbells, and we may eventually purchase the 4th and 5th octaves of bells.

We currently have 13 members, including the Director. Our very first out-of-church gig will be in December 2011 when we play several Christmas songs at the Blossom View Nursing Home in Sodus. We are willing to consider playing at your special gathering or event, too. Please visit our church to hear us play our beautiful bells!
