St Francis of Assisi said it best:

“Go and preach the gospel, and if necessary, use words.”

Our mission committee, which is a major focus of the church, has been energized by many faithful and caring members who have heeded the words from Isaiah:

“Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying: ‘Who should I send? Who will go for us?’I said: ‘Here I am. Send me.’”
(Isaiah 6:8)

Although led by a strong committee, many, if not most of our congregation, are involved in the work of the mission committee. Among the various outreaches are:

  • free Community Dinners including a free Thanksgiving Dinner
  • Elementary School support through a Back Pack Buddy Program, which provides needed food to children on school breaks
  • a Mitten Tree Project
  • an Instrumental Music Assistance Program
  • and  an Emergency Health Fund.

We also support

  • Presbytery Two-Cents-a Meal
  • Sodus Point Methodist Food Pantry
  • Council of Churches Christmas Sharing
  • Flood Relief Donations and workers for flood ravaged areas

  As Acts 20:24 says,

[Our] lives are worth nothing unless we use it for doing the work assigned us by the Lord.”
